Enjoy and Fun with Chinese Characters

Maybe you ever saw some of Chinese characters and you thought that Chinese characters are so complicated. Do you want to learn Chinese characters easier? In my study of Chinese characters, I concluded that learning Chinese by understanding their origin is the easiest way and the fuuniest way to learn them. The other way is to make them into pictogram. Here I’ll give some examples of Chinese characters’s origin and Chinese pictograms.

漢字(Han Zi)

Actually, Hanzi(Chinese characters) are pictograms or the combination of some pictograms that formed a new character. So, if we look some of Chinese characters they’ll be seen like a picture and we can easily guess what the meaning of those characters. For example: character (/ao) It seems like concave shape. So, we can easily guess the meaning. Yap! Concave! It’s easy, isn’it? Okay.. But, that just an easy example .Still there are so many characters again in Chinese. Some of Chinese characters can’t easily be understood because of the characters transformation and some of them  related with Chinese culture and mythology. Here are some Chinese characters that I’ve found where do they come from. Some of them I explained not from the origins but from pictograms(some of them came from my own interpretation. So I’m not guarantee that all of characters I wrote was one hundred percently  right.) *Sorry for the bad illustrations.

It’s transformed again to be modern Chinese character ().

2.     (ri) = sun

This is a simple picture of sun.

After had simplified and then became like this following pictogram

3.  (er)= ear
4.     (shan)= mountain
This following picture is the simple picture of  3 mountains.
This is the first Chinese pictogram from character mountain, then it became character .
5.    (shui) = water

Actually, character “shui” is the picture of water. Like this picture.

After that, this character became more simple like this
Then, became
